It's officially the end of our 2015-2016 school year! (Last blog post of middle school, Cheeee!) Through out the year we've done multiple projects and it's the last one. Our storyline is about two people who never thought they'd end up together but end up "together'. The song is about how there's no Oui without U and I. I know, that's not how you spell "we" but I think he did it just for the song. Theres no we without W and E makes no sense so he changed to the french word "Oui"
So that's going to drop our grade. The reason we didn't have a fast edit montage is because it's kinda a slow song and slow songs don't really have places to put a fast paced edit. Since we didn't have a fast pace edit my favorite part would have to be the part where I run and hug my friend Glenn. It was the fastest part of the video so it'll be like our fast pace edit lol. Sorry Mr. Sanderl if you see this. We meant to put a fast paced edit but it didn't work out :3.

I've been in the G.T program for 2 years of middle school. It's a lot of work, but our class has learned so many tips and tricks on how to make not only our photography projects great, but also our video projects. In this project, we're obviously showcasing our best video skills. We're showing fast pace editing, filters, text layovers, transitions, green screen, and etc. Pretty much everything I've learned. One of the requirements was fast pace editing montage, since I learned how to do that I can show how well I know how to do it. Also, we filmed using a green screen and we learned how to put that in the background and etc.

In our recent animation project, my teammates are Raiden Kurisu and Talia Washington. Our teams personal character traits are weirdness, coolness (lol), and our nerdy selves. In our video Talia is the nerd and I'm the bully. Raiden is like the announcer cause he's kewl (yup he's so cool it's spelled different haha). Anyways, since Talia is the nerdy one it represents her inner smartness (I'm not sure if that makes sense). Since I'm the bully I'm the one who thinks their top dog and is cooler than Talia (I don't have much nerd in me lol). Raiden is a combination of all in this video.

Our whole story has a couple life lessons. Don't underestimate people, don't bully anyone, except eveyone for who they are, and to not judge anyone by their looks. The life lessons in our story relate to us (especially now since we're middle schoolers) there's lot s of bullying because people don't like each other for who they are. Whether it's something someone wears, eats, who they hangout with, they just hate which i think is really dumb. I'm pretty sure whoever is reading this has been bullied at one point in their life. Nobody's perfect, everyone has flaws. We placed humor in our stories by making it like a fight but instead of having punching and hitting it's a dance battle. Since using puppet warp is kinda hard, our dance moves turned out pretty funny *insert laughing emoji*.
I'm not so good at animating so Talia and Raiden did most of the animation. I made some backgrounds and tried animating. The biggest challenge we faced was using the puppet warp tool. It was the first time we ever used this tool and well.. It was hard to use. If you wanted an arm to move it would make your shoulder weird and the rest of your body would turn with it so you had to remember to put a pin on your body. The best moment of the whole production was listening to our voice over for the first time. Since Talia and I were both absent on the day we needed to film Raiden recorded it.
Like, is there anything strange about you, like me, I'm VERY weird. Like the good kind of weird. Basically an imperfection about you. My weirdness is usually really funny. I'm full of craziness lol. Like while I was typing this I was cracking myself up lol. Anyways, not only am I weird, I'm like EXRTREMELY shy. Which kinda really sucks because I get kinda insecure about myself then I get anti-social and I have a hard time making friends. One last imperfection I have is that I have a hard time being alone. Yeah, I know I just said that I had a hard time making friends but when I do make friends it's hard for me to be by myself. Like when I was younger I would have to have people over all the time because I didn't know how to play by myself. I had cousins over all the time which is why I had that problem. All together I'm just weird, quiet, and kind of a social butterfly!

The character trait I plan on exaggerating the most is my weirdness. I honestly love everything that's weird about me except for when I get REALLY weird. I'm going to exaggerate my weirdness in my animation by make my sprite thingy do the hit dance moves of the 21st century (Whip, Dab, Drop, etc). Another way I plan on exaggerating my weirdness in my animation is that I'm going to make my person weird is that I'm gonna make it fly. I've always wanted to fly but technically it's physically impossible so why not make a gif of me flying? A human flying, that's weird right?
Making your own .GIF animation character and your own .GIF isn't as easy as you think it is. Making your own .GIF is easier than making your character (if your using a different character). Starting with your character, you need to take pictures of your subject, we used ourselves. Mr. Sanderl took pictures of us in three different ways, Front, Back, and Side. Next, we went in to photoshop and cut ourselves out using the quick selection tool then copying and pasting the cut out in to a new layer. He wanted it to fit in our blogs so we had to crop it, 640 pixels by 720 pixels. Then we had to save it as a JPEG file. Then we used the puppet warp tool to morph our character to the way we wanted it and turned it in to a .gif. Honestly, I didn't really like mine. It was super basic, I jump a few times then I jump really high then I come back down and it re-loops. I could've done alot better but I ran out of time.
The keywords we have are High school, Fail, Graduate, Stressed, and music. High school relates to the students who are in well, high school and get really stressed out. Especially the seniors who have SAT's, College applications, and senior projects. Next is music. Music helps relieve stress, anger, sadness, or just keeps you in happy mood.

Reality. Our film is a spoof on High School Musical and we wanna prove how different high school musical is from high school in real-life (it's obviously really different haha). Like in high school musical 3 (The main movie we're focusing on) they breakout in song when happy, or sad, or mad, whatever they're feeling. Where in real life, when were happy we smile and laugh or whatever, when we're sad we ignore people or cry, and when we're mad... that's another story, but we don't breakout usually breakout in song. Basically, our message is on how high school isn't what you see in movies. #Reality.

My team faced multiple challenges like not being able to come up with an idea, but I think the BIGGEST challenge we faced was actually filming. It's easy to set up, get things focused, and prepare our actors but the hardest challenge was getting permission to film at the high school and being available to film. We missed our edit and filming check and lost a point because, well the high school wouldn't allow us to film. We tried to go and film but they said we needed to call ahead of time which made our trip to the high school a bust. I didn't really enjoy this project. Sadly we didn't get anything in our project done.
Photomontages! Inspired by the amazing David Hockney, we are doing our own photomontage. Everyone's different, which means our photomontages aren't the same as David Hockney's. His photomontages mainly focus on landscaping. Our photomontages represent a symbol in our life or something with meaning to us.
Pictures, 483 photos are posted on instagram every second, 7,091 tweets are sent per second, info provided by: this website. Each image online tells a different story or message. Some messages could be positive and some can be negative. For example, someones post could be about something depressing, or an image that contains profanity or body language that could be hurtful in a way, that's some examples are negative. There could also be something positive like a happy, insperational quote, or a selfie that contains a big bright smile, that's an example of a positive message.
Everything has a message. Whether it's a soccer ball, a t-shirt, or even a piece of paper, EVERYTHING has a message. My photomontage also has a message and my intended message I wanna send to the audience with my final project is the beauty of Kaua'i. Kaua'i is one of the oldest islands in the Hawaiian island chain and lots of us are attached to our cell phones so we don't notice the beauty of our home (for the ones who live on Kaua'i).

It's finally 2016! Happy New Year! This year, I wanna attain 5 different goals. My first goal is to pick up my grades. I got my first F these past 2 mid-term grades. My second goal is to become more social and to get out more. I spend most of my time inside locked away in my dark room with some netflix and some food, I wanna get out more, socialize, and make new friends. My third goal is to eat healthier. I usually eat pizza and chips and soda on occasions but I wanna eat less of that stuff. I wanna eat more healthy stuff like salad, or uh fruits, and whatever else is healthy lol. My fourth goal is to procrastinate less. Procrastination is the main reason I'm doing bad in school (also laziness). Finally, my last goal is to play more sports. Almost every single one of my cousins does a sport. I'm pretty much the only one in my family that has done only one sport, and that was soccer. I love soccer, it's just that I'm not motivated by anyone to play. I'm also a really shy person so I'd probably not show up on the first day of practice.

My most important goal would have to be picking up my grades. I wanna pick up my grades because having good grades isn't good. Without good grades, I can't play sports in high school, I won't get accepted in to good colleges, and I might possibly not succeed in life. I don't like knowing I have an F in one of my core classes (social studies). I think my grades are so low cause I'm too attached to my phone. Another reason why picking up my grades is a big goal of mine, is because my brother (currently in 5th grade) gets better grades than I do. He's ALWAYS bragging how his grades are better than mine and I wanna show him what's up and get good grades.

To make sure I get good grades I'm going to create a plan. The first step in my plan is to stop going on my phone 24/7 and to put it down once in a while to finish any missing work or homework assignments. My second part to my plan is to STOP procrastinating. To me, procrastination is one of the biggest problems I have when it comes to major assignments. I recive the assignment and end up doing it days later (sometimes a few days before the deadline). My third step to my plan for success is to pay closer attention and ask for help when I need it. I end up spacing out and not paying attention to the details and the due date so I end up turning it in late or yelling "ARE YOUR SERIOUS?!" when the teacher announces the due date and the requirements. My last step to my plan for success is to turn in my work closer to the due date. I end up turning in everything like 2 weeks over the due date so I can at least get a little bit of credit. Anyways, that's my plan to success I'm really hoping my plan to success works out because I wanna end my last year of middle school on a good note.
In G.T this pass week or so, we were told to create an invention and make a commercial out of it. My teams invention was called flava-filter, it was a coffee filter that adds the cream and sugar for you and you don't have to go to the store and buy all that extra coffee creamer and sugar when it convientently comes with the flava-filter. My teams main goal for this project was just to complete it and have fun. To me, this was one of my favorite projects and one of my favorite results.

Working in a team requires getting along with people. Thankfully, my team was with people I'm comfterble with. While working in a team, you experience some funny, weird moments, or sad, irritated moments. Well, lets just forget about those bad moments and think about the good ones. My team experienced many happy moments, and I think my favorite moment was when we filmed Chazz the "showgirl". You know how you see those girls modeling with an object in their hand? well, thats exactly what chazz did. Not sure if he liked it or not, but it was super funny. At first he couldn't stay serious, but after a while he got used to it. "Man, I feel bad for all the girls that have to do this. This is some hard work" -Chazz <span style="font-family: "apple color emoji" , "segoe ui emoji" , "notocoloremoji" , "segoe ui symbol" , "android emoji" , "emojisymbols"; font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px;">😂

Once again, my team was Me, Chazz, and Kaz. We all had a part to contribute to this production. I was more to the editing and filming side, chazz was an actor in some parts, and kaz helped with filming and did the voice overs. I did most of the filming because I am kinda self conscious and I absolutley HATE being on camera (I also hate the sound of my voice). Chazz and Kaz both seemed okay with their jobs and being filmed so that happened.

(I have used the rarest pepe of them all (Triton pepe) for my freedom game)
When we first started coding, we started by using code.org and doing some simple code. After that, we began using scratch (another coding website) and began making our own games. Our first game we made was a chase game (A game where either the main sprite gets chased or vice versa) and our
second game was a platformer game. I think having a little experience with coding helped us because we understood most of the pieces of coding. Honestly, I could code for hours but I'd still fail.

The best features in my games would have to be my sprites. Well, they technically aren't my sprites but I like the ones I chose. For my platformer game I drew it myself! (There wasn't much creativity or thought put in to my sprite. It's just a black box with a derpish face on it). To me, my platformer sprite was a lot better because it's custom and lots of people chose the ocean theme so whatevers.

My best code game was my chase game. It was the best one because I actually was able to get my sprite to move, to where my chase game I couldn't get it to move at all. For my chase game I couldn't get the "Chasers" to chase my sprite. I ended up fixing it by asking my friend for help and looked at his code for an example and it all worked out. For my platformer game the most complicated thing to do was getting the blocks that are supposed to fall... fall. I also couldn't get my stinking sprite to move at all!! (I still didn't fix that oops .-.)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16947867219282204985noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6230066261088182742.post-44720111116218794282015-11-17T10:29:00.001-08:002015-11-24T10:37:46.583-08:00Composition Scavenger Hunt

Recently in G.T we got in to teams of 3 and began 2 new projects. We finished one and that was our composition techniques video. Each team was assigned a different set of composition techniques and we all had to create a video using them all. To me, the most important composition technique is rule of thirds. I believe its the most important because rule of thirds can be used on almost every shot. Especially interview shots. It's more intersesting to place

To me, all composition techniques are quite easy. But the hardest one would have to be unusual angles. I mean, finding an unusual angle is pretty easy, but staying in that position might be complicated. Also, if you're shooting from a really unusual angle it might be hard to reach, or it could also be hazerdous to you and the camera.
My teammates are Kaz Espina and Charles McConnell (aka Chazz). Kaz is a cool kat considering his love for cats and Chazz is that kinda quiet video gamer type. During this whole project we all contributed to filming but Kaz did most of the filming and edting. For most of the project, Chazz was in Maine and missed a whole week in school :/.. But thankfully, we go the entire project done and got a good grade :).
It wasn't that extreme type of coding with like billions of numbers, it was simple coding using code.com. I learned that coding isn't that simple to do but you gotta start somewhere. I think everyone should learn how to code. Like what if all the coders suddenly wipe out and no one knows how to code? (I doubt that's possible but what IFFFF). Also, what if you don't land any of the jobs you want, computer coding could be another option. Some computer programing/coding offices are really cool.

My first experience with coding was in 7th grade. I'm not sure why it was in this class, but I learned how to code in social studies. Working with code for the first time was pretty exciting, but it wasn't what I expected. I thought the coding we were doing had to do with millions and millions of numbers, but the coding website we used was pretty easy. The website we used was code.org and we did the hour of code.

If I could design my own program or game, I would make the most random game ever. It would probably not make any sense but I don't make much sense either so it's the perfect game for me. If I had to make a website or program that actually made sense it would probably be a program that can either help you with your homework or maybe a program that's full of a bunch of games that you can play on your free time.

So, we've started a new project and it's slowly coming to the end of the project. Through out this project I've learned some new things. Like pad, and how to do things in iMovie. Last year, we used a program called final cut pro which was a little different from iMovie. A couple new things I learned this year was in iMovie (sorry I keep saying iMovie). Anyways, I learned how to add transitions and text. I kinda knew how to do that before but now I for sure know. Next, I learned some filming techniques such as pad. I learned about pad last year but I completely forgot about it. I won't completely go in to the topic because that's what I'll be talking about next. Anyways, thats what I've learned so far this year :).

Like I was saying about pad, it's critical to have pad. I think it's critical because if you start filming or ending it early it could cut off what the person is saying. Not only does pad help with that it can help you in the editing process, like trimming a video can be easier. Let's just say padding is something crucial and helpful in the editing process and can possibly help improve your grade in G.T :3,

I have encountered my strength and weaknesses with this project. My weakness for this project was coming up with a joke. I had the hardest time coming up with a joke and that's one way my grade dropped for this project. Also, getting some of my B-Roll was hard because my parents were busy and I couldn't get to the places I needed to film. Lastly for my weaknesses was placing my B-Roll. I forgot about the sliding bar thingy that you could use to increase the viewing of your project. Now to my strengths. I didn't have many strengths with this project. I wasn't too familiar with some of the features in iMovie but I completed it. I could've improved with my project by planning what and where I was going to film but of course, I was being my forgetful self and forgot to plan.
Some interesting facts about me? I'm actually not a very interesting person. I'm like your average person. I'd choose the each with friends and family over sitting at home or at the park reading a book. Iv'e only been out of the state once and when I left the state I went Anaheim, California (Disneyland!!) I have been off island for a week by myself for a Kamehameha Schools program. See, my life isn't that interesting right? Anyways, I've played soccer once and my team was almost undefeated the whole season! (and it was my first year).

Mistakes are proof were trying! Never give up, giving up gets you no where. Try your hardest at what your doing! You've come so far, there's no turning back now. Keep going and don't stop now. Try hard, better results. Move forwards and never turn back. If you don't like it, change it, don't punish yourself. Don't have time? Stop playing on your electronics. Treat others the way you wanna be treated. Be kind to one another. Strive to be the best YOU, don't try to be someone you're NOT.
Most people say never to give up because giving up isn't the answer. Trying harder is the way to go! Many people have idols that
For this project, my team members are Logan Noble, Tyler Pagela, and Nathan Gardner. Each of have different rolls in contributing for this project, except the lip sync part we all have to take a part of that. I've been contributing to this project by doing the filming and providing our "music-playing-device". Logan has been staring in most of the shots so far, he's also helped film a little bit. Nathan has been the second person to do their lip sync, and he also helped film a small portion of this project.

In our music video, I think the audience would enjoy our bloopers the most. I didn't really like the song we picked for our music video because I didn't know the song. The audience would enjoy the bloopers the best because they're just really funny. The bloopers consist of Logan and Nathan. In one clip, logan is sitting down and just dancing! In another clip, Nathan just stands up and runs away (laughing emoji), it was supposes to be a part of the story for our video but we didn't end up using that scene so we used the fail clip as a blooper.

Our music video shows what we learned this year because through out the year, we were taught to use many different creative angles, and for our music video we used many different wide, meduim, and close shots. We also used the transitions and text screens. It also shows what we learned in photoshop (the title screen). For our title screen, in photoshop, we kerned our title, and added a bevel and emboss on it, as well as a drop shadow and gradient overlay with patterns.
Our focus statement tells our story because that's what the story is about. Our focus statement is "Cyberbullying Effects Tu" which was actually a true story. Cyberbullying is a big problem now because teens have more freedom and they have a large vocabulary of hateful words they probably were told before. Since cyberbullying is such a large problem we decided to let people know about it by telling a story that happened to one of our teammates.

Since our focus statement was "Cyberbullying Effects Tu" so the lesson was how the action of cyberbullying can lead to sometimes serious depression. We decided on the cyberbullying topic because many teens are being called names, and told mean things by anonymous internet users. Most parents and adults can't see what these people are doing online so we thought this would be a good topic. Were showing this to people through an animation, actually many different forms of animation. We used the programs, stykz and photoshop to animate. Next, we did a stop motion, and a whiteboard, then we put it all together using iMovie.

I think the worst part of the animation was deciding who does what. For example, Tyler and I were fighting over who does the storyboard, or who animates in stykz or who animates in photoshop. The best part was helping filming. I really enjoy using the cameras because I don't have a camera like the ones we have in school and it's a really great opportunity to use the canons. My second favorite part was just working with my team. Dylan is a really strong animator, Tessa is great at editing, Tu is an amazing actor and Tyler is good at writing the storyboard.

Typography is a picture of a face thats facing forwards (basically a portrait image), and the persons face covered in a bunch of words. Typography creates a long lasting impact because if you can read the words used it can tell a lot about the person in the portrait. The typography also looks really interesting. Typography images can create a long lasting effect on people because the words that cover the person tells a lot about them or about their past.

For me this project was really hard. I struggled with almost everything. The easiest part was taking my images. This project was really complicated for me. For our teacher typography, I really struggled. I couldn't get my mid tones, shadows and highlights even. I couldn't even get my highlights, mid tones, and shadows. I didn't complete my teacher project on time, but I did get my Innovator project in time. I was able to complete my project because I asked my friends for help. I think the part I had the most trouble was getting enough highlights. I barely had any on my teacher portrait. I needed to adjust my image quite a few times but after I adjusted it enough I finally got it right.

My first example of typography is of Marie Curie. The typography I did of Marie was really simple. The only thing I had trouble on this typography was. My second example is my teacher portrait. This one I had trouble on. As I said in my first paragraph I couldn't get my highlights and mid-tones even. I found out why my mid-tones were uneven and I solved that problem. But my teacher portrait isn't finished yet. My third typography of me wasn't as hard as my teacher typography. The only large problem I had for my ME portrait was changing the colors of my shadows.
Portrait photography is when you take a picture of someones face or have them take a picture of your face. Portrait photography is kind of like profile picture because there bth a picture of your face or someone else. its just that a profile picture is the side of your face. It kinda relates to a silhouette too because a silhouette is an image of a person or an object and is filled with one solid color which is usually black. So to make a silhouette you need to start by taking a portrait first.

To make a double exposure in photoshop you need to go file>Scripts>Load Files into Stack, after you can resize your pictures, then you use the dodge tool to make your background white or you can add some textures. Next you crop your images 8 inches by 11 inches . When you have all of your pictures resized and cropped you can place the pictures where you want them to be. Next your going to turn on your blend modes. You click on the layer>Blend Mode> Screen (you can choose any blend mode , it doesn't have to be screen mode). Once your done with that you might have edges and your going to want to make it look like the images blend together, your going to take your eraser tool and give it a soft opacity to make it look like the images blend together.

In my exposed portrait, my symbols were a sunset and a picture of underwater. I chose the picture of a sunset because I enjoy watching sunsets and taking pictures of them, and I chose a picture of an underwater scene because I like using my Gopro at the beach, also I love the water its beautiful and like totally awesome. I think I could've used one picture that was an item or like an animal or something because in my final it looks like I have a pink body, and a blue head with a little bit of texture to it. To me it's pretty bad, I had a third image but we were only allowed to use two so I was stuck with a pink body and a blue head. My third symbol was going to be a wave crashing and it was taken horizontally so it was a strip of wave between the sunrise and my underwater symbols. Then I realized I was only allowed to have two symbols so I just have a blue head and a pink body with some trees by my neck.

This project was kinda hard for me because I didn't communicate well with my teammates ( Ethan Garrison, Nathan Gardner, and Shanden Matsushima), so I ended up not being in the movie. Filming our movie was a bit difficult to because ours was an animation. We ended up using the green screen a lot. For our trailer plan we each worked on it, but I think Nathan worked on the trailer plan the most. I helped by getting the shots, setting up cameras and tripods, writing scripts, filming, and editing.

The project had requirements that were pretty easy to follow, but our team still failed to follow them all. The requirements were to have the entire trailer 1 minute and 30 seconds minimum to 2 minutes maximum, a total of 5 scenes, voice acting script, dialogue, foley, had to be appropriate for all audiences, it needed to include dialogue and foley, and at the end our movie trailer poster. Our team got most of the requirements except for foley, and it wasn't to appropriate for all audiences.

Our class critique results were pretty bad. The creativity and requirements were really low, but the audience critique wasn't too bad. I agree with the critique results because our trailer was pretty bad. I've learned that I should help my team more. I also learned that I should communicate better with my team.

HDR means High Dynamic Range. I like HDR photography because it makes the pictures a bit nicer. Also, you can see some of the darker areas and if the sun is in the shot it doesn't washout the photo. Using the HDR setting on my phone helps me with my sunset or sunrise shots because I can see some of the mountain and the sun doesn't look like a huge flash and the colors look a bit more natural.

If you want to take an HDR photo, here's how. First you need to take your pictures, when you take the pictures you need to take them at different exposure levels (-3,-2,-1,0,+1,+2,+3). Once you get all of your pictures you need to open photoshop. File>Automate>Merge to HDR pro. Your going to wanna check the "Attempt to align" box. After your photos load, sometimes you can see these things called "Ghosts". Ghosts happen because your subject or something in your picture moved. You can click the "Attempt to remove ghosts" box. You can edit your photo to make it look surreal or true to life. Believe it or not, there is a difference between HDR on an Iphone and HDR that you take yourself. The difference between the two is that HDR on an Iphone has only three exposure levels. But when you take the pictures yourself it has seven or more exposure levels.

The thought process of my experiment was that I wanted to have a nice background but a nice portrait at the same time. So I tried my best to place her in one of the rule of thirds points. I put the word "dream" because I wasn't too sure on what word would work with her face. I made her bigger because it wasn't in the rule of thirds mark. The thought process of my landscape was that I wanted my coconut tree in it so I put the camera so I could see the tree and the part of the town too.

The main characters in the movie poster are Nathan, who plays Baymax, Ethen who plays Hiro, Shanden who plays Wasabi, and Leilia (me) who plays GoGo. Nathan will be doing a pose of him bent down trying to pick up a soccer ball because in the movie baymax attempts to pick up a soccer ball but fails to pick it up and just keeps kicking it forwards. Ethen who plays hiro will be just smiling and watching baymax tryna pick up the ball. Shanden who plays wasabi will be posing in a stance like hes about to slice someone. Leilia (me) who plays GoGo will be posing like I'm about to throw one of my disks.

My title is Big Hero 6. My poster has the actors names and who they play. For example: Leilia Panui as GoGo Tamago. I kerned my title and added layer effects. Kerning is adjusting the spacing between the letters and the distance between words. We use kerning because it makes words more interesting to the eye, it makes words cooler.

The impact the layer effects and filters have a good impact. When my title was just words without layer effects and filters it was really boring. Once, I put layer effects and filters on my text it looked much better. It really poped out of the page, I added a drop shaddow and a color overlay. I also kerned my title.

Once in a while I'm a procrastinator because having all this work gets tiring and boring so I end up putting it of and doing it later.

I usually have lots of free time but I end up doing all my work at the last moment, I put my work of to the side because there's always something fun going on at my house. I don't wanna miss out on the stuff that happens at my house. So I usually have very little work time and lots of free time because I put off all of my work. Lots of my time usually goes to helping my family, or playing with my little cousins. That's why I don't have lots of productivity time.

I would change my work habits by learning to finish all my work first then going out to play or whatever. I would change the amount of free time I have because I have so much free time and I just waste it. I don't really do much doing my free time I usually waste it on social media or tv. I'm going to star using my time wisely and use it to catch up on work.

My Visual Poem Was on the oceans. I think the visuals make an impact because my visuals are of the beautiful beaches of kauai. I had pictures of Anahola beach, Shipwrecks beach, and another beach but I don't remember the name of it. I have to say that my visuals were kinda awesome because I took them myself.

For my special effects I used transitions and the kens-burn effects. The trasitions change the mood because it gives my Visual Poem a little kick and excitement and it's not as boring when the B-roll is just being switched really quickly. I think the audience would enjoy my transitions because there mostly fades so it fades in to another picture so it looks pretty nice.

My finished poem didn't really turn out how i wanted it to but it still came out pretty nice. I'm not sure if it was long enough or not. Also some of the B-Roll i planned on taking didn't really work out. I'm just happy I completed the assignment.

My teams story was on Henry Panui . It was on how he was able to balance the time for his job and surfing . My teammates were: Jasmine Laplante, Tessa Jensen, Me, and Daileen Barton. Tessa's mom also contributed to our news story because she drove, Me, Tessa, and Jasmine to my house to film. The people we interviewed also contributed to the story because they took time out just for our project .

The final product didn't really turn out as i thought it would but it still came out okay. I think we could've put a little more effort in to the project it would've turned out better. Im okay on how it turned out . I mean its not the best it has very little b-roll , but at least we got it done . Not exactly the best news story but I'm fine with it .

With our critique results I understood why we got low critique results. Our critiques were mostly two's, three's, and one's. We lacked requirements, like B-Roll. We had B-Roll but it wasn't the right B-Roll . Instead of video it was picture B-Roll . I definitely agree with our critique results.
I thought the most interesting part was doing the interviews . I've never filmed interviews before . I've also never done an interview before . We had to get mic's set up , tripods placed , clean camera lenses , and prepare our interviewee , I've never done that before but it was pretty interesting .

While working on this project my team and I encountered many roadblocks . I think the most challenging roadblock was getting all of our interviews completed . We had trouble setting up our interviews and actually getting the interviews . Some of my partners couldn't make the day of the interview or we couldn't get the interviews because of bad communication.

I think the most valuable part of the film making process was completing all three interviews and getting the required amount of b-roll . The interviews and B-Roll were basically the whole video . Another valuable part was uploading the clips right , because if we lost the clips we would have to reschedule interviews all over again and get more B-Roll . Thankfully we finished the project.
Me and team have had really hard challenges but we still are trying our best to finish this assignment. We did not communicate well so we didn’t get to film so we didn’t get to transcribe our interviews. My team didn't

If we can’t think of questions we watch the video to see if we needed to redo anything or see if the sound is there. If we don’t need to redo anything and the sound is there we are usually just chilling or finding people to interview.

I could also edit the video if we are at school and I could finish transcriptions. If I had better communication with the rest of my team we would have a better finished products and we would've had all the requirements .

This is how we first taught ourselves how to use and get to each tool in photoshop. We did this experiment to learn how to use photoshop and where all the tools are.

Something that was wrong was is that some of us didn't know how to set up a new document on photoshop or what each tool meant and how to insert a picture if we needed a picture to be inserted.
